Sleep Researcher Says Let High Schoolers Sleep In

It’s not hard to imagine a high school kid nodding off during class. Sleep scientists say data back up the case for moving high school start times to about an hour later.

A new study co-authored by Pamela McKeever from Central Connecticut State University looked at high schools in seven states that have made the change and found graduation and attendance rates improved. McKeever said that making the change is a hard sell for districts, but she’d like to tackle the obstacles.
